Job Summary
The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the hotel’s front office operations during the night shift while ensuring accurate financial reporting and exceptional guest service. In a luxury hotel, this role combines accounting precision with personalized guest care, maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, security, and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
1. Night Audit & Financial Reconciliation
- Perform end-of-day (EOD) procedures and close all financial transactions.
- Reconcile daily revenue from all departments (rooms, F&B, spa, etc.).
- Verify accuracy of guest accounts, billing, and payments.
- Balance cash, credit cards, and ledger accounts.
- Prepare and distribute daily financial reports to management.
2. Front Desk Operations
- Manage late-night check-ins and early check-outs efficiently.
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and special needs with professionalism.
- Ensure smooth communication with housekeeping and security teams.
- Maintain accurate guest records in the Property Management System (PMS).
3. Guest Experience (Luxury Standards)
- Deliver personalized, discreet, and high-quality guest service.
- Anticipate guest needs and resolve issues promptly.
- Handle VIP arrivals/departures and special arrangements.
- Maintain a calm, professional, and welcoming atmosphere overnight.
4. Security & Safety Oversight
- Monitor hotel security systems and ensure guest safety.
- Conduct night patrols (if required) and report any irregularities.
- Ensure compliance with emergency procedures and policies.
- Act as the main point of contact during emergencies at night.
5. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare Night Audit reports including:
- Daily revenue summary
- Occupancy report
- No-show and cancellation report
- Log all incidents, guest feedback, and operational issues.
- Ensure proper handover to morning shift team.
6. Cash Handling & Controls
- Manage front office cash float and transactions.
- Ensure all postings are accurate and supported by documentation.
- Detect and report discrepancies or suspicious transactions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Accounting, or Finance.
Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in Front Office or Night Audit, preferably in a luxury hotel.
- Experience with PMS systems (e.g., Opera, Protel, Fidelio).
Skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
